Applications available for Hershey’s Track & Field Youth Program | Community Spirit

LĪHU‘E – Youngsters nine to 14 are invited to participate in the Hershey’s Track & Field Youth Program.

The program provides beginners with a chance to check out this sport and at the same time, it gives experienced track and field athletes the opportunity to compete and prepare for the Hershey’s national competition, which will be held later this year in Hershey, PA.

The Hershey’s Track & Field Games are scheduled at Vidinha Stadium on Saturday, May 19, from about 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The deadline to register is Thursday, May 10, 4 pm. No applications will be accepted on the day of the event.

Applications are available at all neighborhood centers including: Kīlauea; Kapa‘a; Līhu'e; Kōloa; Kalāheo; Hanapēpē; Kaumakani; Waimea; and Kekaha. Additionally, applications may be picked up at the Department of Parks and Recreation’s administrative office, which is located at the Līhu'e Civic Center, Mo‘ikeha Building.

Completed applications can be dropped off at any neighborhood center, faxed to 241-6858, or emailed to lihuenc@kauai.gov.

The mission of The Hershey’s Track & Field Games is to encourage physical fitness, foster teamwork and improve self-esteem among youth.
