Kapahi home damaged in early morning fire | Home & Garden

KAPAHI – A man escaped injury when his bedroom caught fire early this morning on Kapahi Road.
Police Dispatch received a call at 3:44 a.m. when a fire broke out in the upstairs bedroom of a two-story home.
Firefighters were on scene by 3:54 a.m., but residents had already extinguished the blaze using a garden hose.
The fire was contained to the upstairs bedroom, causing roughly $25,000 in damages to the structure and its contents.
Engines 2 and 8, Trucks 2 and 8, and Kaua'i police responded to the incident.
Residents are being assisted by the Kaua'i Red Cross.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
